Poppy event Saturday July 26th!

At last, the hand-made poppies prepared to commemorate the beginning of World War I 100 years ago, will be on display. Two knitting clubs, thousands of kilometers apart, have been working for months toward this event: the knitting club in Totton, England, and the North Gower Knitting Club, made special poppies, and exchanged them in an event of international recognition and sharing.

Staffer Louise Drouin-Backs and Knitting Club leader, Library volunteer and North Gower resident Anne Burtt will have an in-Library display ready by mid-week and then on Saturday, July 26th is the kick-off event.

Join us at 1 PM as MP Pierre Poilievre drops in to make a few remarks.

Cake will be served.

For more information, call the Library at 613-489-3909–it goes through a main switchboard now, so you must ask for North Gower.
