An old railway car has been retrofitted to serve as a library, and is a big hit with the residents of Hamilton, Ontario. The refurbished 1954 passenger car was officially opened by Lieutenant-Governor Liz Dowdeswell, last Sunday.
A local community centre raised $100,000 to renovate the rail car to be a library for the neighbourhood.The new library is especially appealing to children, and community leaders hope it will help boost literacy rates for the neighbourhood.
