New Central Library? Now’s your chance to comment

The Main Branch at 120 Metcalfe

The Ottawa Public Library is holding a special consultation session on March 31st, to gather ideas from Ottawa citizens on a new Central Library.

The event is being held downtown at City Hall, March 31 from 7 to 9 PM. If you cannot attend in person, you may join the webcast. Alternatively, you may visit the Main Branch of the Library on Metcalfe Street.

The website for the event and feedback is here: http://ottawacentrallibrary.ca/

If we may be permitted a small editorial comment, once again, Ottawa’s rural communities are being marginalized–not everyone can venture downtown after a workday, in the evening, and not everyone has access to the technology to join a webcast. And not everyone can go downtown to provide their comments on an “idea board”.

The Library patrons living in Vernon, Greely, Metcalfe, Munster and North Gower, for example, may wish to have other ways of expressing their views.

We are told that you can provide comments via email at info@biblioottawalibrary.ca
