Staffers Christine McKay and Louise Drouin-Backs received service award pins this week, for five and 25 years of service to the Ottawa Public Library, respectively.

Area supervisor Jane Venus presented the awards together with a bouquet of flowers to each employee, last Tuesday.

Louise has been the staff member coordinating several local group meetings at the library in North Gower: the Open Door Book Club, and the Nifty Knitters knitting club. She is interested in starting a garden club too, if there is sufficient community interest (e-mail NorthGower@Ottawa.ca)

Christine is a local resident and farm owner who joined the library staff five years ago–she is also a member of the local knitting club.

Congratulations, and thank you for your service!
